How tuition works for your family

Tuition at Primer operates on a sliding scale, up to $24,000 per student. We’ll help you qualify for state scholarships to bring this cost down as low as possible, and have additional scholarships available through the Primer Foundation for families who qualify.

In order to determine your family’s contribution, we’ll work with you to understand your finances and develop a personalized tuition package to make a Primer education possible for your family.

How much is tuition?

Primer is committed to making an exceptional education accessible to every family. Our tuition operates on a flexible sliding scale, up to $24,000, tailored to meet the unique financial situations of every family.

What does tuition include?

Tuition covers every student's Chromebook and technology setup including essential resources like books, supplies, and materials. Tuition also covers field trips and extra activities during the school day. Lunch is provided at some of our Microschools, but not all. Before and aftercare options are available for an additional fee. Please inquire for specific details.

How do you determine personalized tuition?

Tuition is as personalized as the Primer experience. We’ll first set out to understand your family’s financial circumstances. We’ll consider all state scholarships your family is eligible for as well as what you personally think you can afford. You may find the tuition calculator above helpful in calculating an estimate.

How does billing work?

Your family’s out-of-pocket contribution can either be paid upfront in full or completed in 10 monthly installments. Funds from state scholarships, like ClassWallet and Step Up, are paid quarterly.

What state scholarships are available?

State scholarships vary by state and are determined by your child's specific needs. In Florida, the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC) and Family Empowerment Scholarships (FES) are available to families through Step Up for Students, with an average scholarship between $6,000-9,000 per student. In Arizona, Empowerment Scholarship Accounts (ESAs) are available to families and processed through ClassWallet, with an average scholarship of $6,000 - $8,000 per student. All students who have applied have received funding.

Is there an application fee or deposit to enroll?

There is no fee to apply to Primer Microschools. Once you're ready to secure your child's spot and confirm your enrollment, there is a one-time, non-refundable fee of $100.

What if my family’s financial circumstances change?

We know life happens. We also know the importance of consistency in education and not disrupting your child’s day-to-day when other changes take place. If your family’s financial circumstances change, let us know, and we will work with you to make sure attending Primer remains possible.
