At Primer, we're freeing the next generation of kids to be more ambitious, more creative and to think for themselves. Your child is amazing and they deserve an education that takes them seriously. That’s why Primer kids learn at their own pace, pursue their passions, and get the support they deserve. Our Microschools focus on small-group, student-centered learning powered by exceptional educators and the best of technology, built by engineers at Primer.
For our early learners, our goal is to ignite a love for learning and ensure students are mastering foundational core skills in math and literacy. Students are also exposed to new topics that nurture their innate curiosity and develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Primer students are introduced to self-paced learning in a whole new way. With guidance from their Microschool Leaders, they set personal goals for their core academics, as they engage with texts in a meaningful way and grasp deeper concepts in math. They also begin taking courses based on their interests, from robotics to art to financial literacy.
In our upper grades, we are focused on preparing students to take ownership over their learning by prioritizing their work and making choices on how they spend their time. Students also start to prepare for the complex challenges in advanced math and science so that they can seamlessly transition into high school and beyond with confidence.
While Primer doesn’t host its own organized sports teams, we fully support our students’ athletic pursuits. In Florida, students enrolled in private schools are legally entitled to participate in sports and other interscholastic activities at their local public schools. Families at Primer have the opportunity for their children to join public school sports teams, provided there’s space available, while enrolled with us.
There are no uniforms at our Kendall campus. However, we have a simple dress code to ensure students are dressed appropriately for the school day.
What sets Primer apart is our belief that extracurricular activities should seamlessly integrate into the daily curriculum, not just happen after school. At Primer, we weave students’ passions into the school day.
Primer does not offer lunch at our Kendall campus. However, students are encouraged to bring a healthy lunch, snack, and water to school everyday. Our commitment to student wellbeing extends to being an allergy-aware school, ensuring a safe dining environment for all students.
Primer does not currently provide transportation to our Kendall campus.
We are building a new kind of school system: one where we value what kids learn inside and outside the classroom, one where kids learn to solve real problems, not just pass tests, and one where kids learn how to think, not what to think. Primer is committed to creating an environment where every individual feels seen and valued for their unique passions, curiosities, and interests.
In the mornings, students focus on core academic skills, with an emphasis on literacy and math. Primer’s curriculum is tailored to fit each student’s individual needs, no matter if they’re ahead of the curve or need help catching up.
In the afternoons, our students engage in project-based learning, where they can bring their passions and curiosities to life, whether that means they’re learning to code or writing a book.
Our educators at Kendall are more than teachers; they are leaders, redefining what education can be. They make Primer Kendall the inclusive, ambitious, and student-centric community that it is. We’re thrilled to welcome new families like you to the Primer community.
